Saminah was founded on a simple belief: when people come together with compassion and purpose, they can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Our story begins with family, faith, and a deep connection to our roots.

In 2025, our family made the life-changing decision to step away from the busyness of everyday life and spend six months living in Sri Lanka, the homeland of our heritage. What began as a family journey quickly became an opportunity to reconnect with our culture, build meaningful relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and needs facing communities throughout the country.

During our time there, we visited remote villages, met families from diverse backgrounds, and witnessed both hardship and extraordinary resilience. We were welcomed into homes with incredible generosity, often by people who had very little yet were eager to share what they had. We met children eager to learn, families working tirelessly to provide for their loved ones, and communities that embodied gratitude, hope, and strength despite difficult circumstances.

These experiences left a lasting impact on our family.

As parents, we wanted our children not only to see the beauty of their heritage, but also to understand the importance of compassion, service, and giving back. Together, we participated in projects that provided groceries to families in need, helped supply school materials to children preparing for a new school year, and partnered with local leaders who were faithfully serving their communities.

What began as a desire to help soon became a calling.
